Impeachment only shows how vacuous the left has become

HIDDEN BY IMPEACHMENT: ONE OF TRUMP’S ‘BEST WEEKS YET.’

Added to the list of accomplishments this week:

  • An agreement on a new U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade deal.
  • A new budget including more than $1.3 billion for a border wall and blocks a government shutdown.
  • House approval of the U.S. Space Force, a brand-new branch of the military.
  • Government family leave that will be a model for a proposal for the public.
  • Tentative agreement on trade with China.
  • Approval of Trump’s 50th federal appeals judge.
  • Confirmation of a new Food and Drug Administration chief.
  • The signing of a pro-Israel anti-Semitism executive order.

Plus, advisers noted, Wall Street hit another record, and Pelosi conceded that on impeachment, “It’s been going on 22 months — two and a half years, actually.”

And, the advisers added, with impeachment likely, the president was assured by McConnell that the Senate would move fast on a trial that will end in acquittal and might include the support of two Senate Democrats, according to Sen. Rand Paul.

“There is one world where the mainstream media is covering impeachment, but there is another world where Trump is racking up a myriad of accomplishments, many of which have the support of the same Democrats who want to remove him from office,” said political communications strategist Ron Bonjean.

But he has done something: Trump’s anti-Semitism order is a Rorschach test for Jews:

If you are against federal action to stop anti-Semitic discrimination on college campuses just because Trump is doing it, then you’re the one with the problem.

Not to mention this: Trump lashes out at ‘Do Nothing Dems’ for impeachment, says they’ve become ‘Party of Hate’.

How can he say he has done nothing?

After Tuesday’s massacre in Jersey City, New Jersey’s Jews are still in shock, just like the Jews in Pittsburgh last year. When our Shabbat services ended the day of that shooting, I left the sanctuary to be greeted by a fleet of police cars surrounding our synagogue. As I learned what happened 350 miles to the west I thought of Sinclair Lewis’ ironically titled 1935 novel, “It Can’t Happen Here.” What he meant, of course, was it can happen here. And it just did. . . .

And, perhaps, this latest massacre will increase the momentum for the serious and effective gun policies this country so obviously needs.

All of which is well and good. But, If antisemitic incidents are on the rise, we Jews have to figure out what we do next. Then, I thought, who better to ask than a Muslim?

Who, indeed?

BECAUSE THEY’RE MORE LOYAL TO LEFTY POLITICS THAN TO JUDAISM: Caroline Glick: Why Leftist Jews Slander President Trump.

In its Twitter feed, the New York Times reported Trump’s action thus: “President Trump will sign an executive order defining Judaism as a nationality, not just a religion, thus bolstering the Education Department’s efforts to stamp out “Boycott Israel” movements on college campuses.”

This tweet was so off-base that it is impossible to view it as a mere misunderstanding by the paper of record for the liberal establishment. The assertion that Trump’s move “defined Judaism” smacks of cultural appropriation, and as such, it sounds like an act of aggression against Jews.

By falsely claiming Trump defined Judaism as a nationality, the Times made it sound like Trump was saying that Jews aren’t American nationals.

And by writing the purpose of the effort was to “stamp out ‘Boycott Israel’ movements on college campuses,” rather than protect Jewish students from anti-Semitic harassment, the Times made the order seem like a political ploy rather than a civil rights action long supported by Democrats and Republicans alike.

Liberal Jews pounced on the message and ran with it. Halie Soifer, the executive director of the Jewish Democratic Council of America accused Trump of being “partially responsible” for the rise of anti-Semitism in America.

“If President Trump truly wanted to combat anti-Semitism,” she said, “he would accept responsibility for his role in perpetuating anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and emboldening white nationalism.”

“We said it before and we’ll say it again – Donald Trump is the biggest threat to American Jews,” she added.

J-Street’s executive director Jeremy Ben-Ami echoed the criticism of BDS advocates in Congress and on campuses by claiming that the executive order harms the free speech rights of anti-Israel activists. In his words, “The executive order, like the stalled congressional legislation it is based on, appears designed less to combat anti-Semitism than to have a chilling effect on free speech and to crack down on campus critics of Israel.”

Undoubtedly, Soifer and Ben Ami were directing their statements towards the “a-political” Jewish establishment in the hopes of mobilizing them against the pro-Jewish executive order.

In the event, they failed. The Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee both applauded Trump’s executive order.

But Soifer and Ben Ami had grounds to think the ADL and AJC would join them in characterizing Trump’s friendliness and support for Jewish people as anti-Semitism. Earlier this week they did.

Which ties into Ken Stern’s (below) bogus comments about Trump’s use of “anti-semitic” tropes.

What’s there not to like about Boris Johnson? He Simply. Must. Win. Must. We’re down to just three nations holding the post WWII world together – Britain, Israel, and the United States. They, in in the persons of Boris Johnson, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Donald Trump each has perhaps its last true nationalist leader, a leader that understands soul of the nation he leads and faith in the importance of his nation’s place in the world, and is willing to fight for it. Britain and the US are being ripped apart internally, being dragged down literally by a political-social sludge that consists of almost nothing more than universal ‘hurt feelings’ driven by fifth-rate medicine wagon politicians and a brain dead media. Israel, who the world has been taught to hate, including by many leaders inside the US and Britain, is little better off but must tread very, very carefully because the people who would destroy it in a heartbeat are closer to its citizens than many here are to the nearest WalMart – every moment of every day. Trump and Netanyahu are old, vigorous but old. Who will replace them as leaders willing to fight for their nations in the world, not just pander to everyone internally and externally? Boris Johnson, armed with a twinkle in his eye, a great sense of humor, and a tremendous classical education, Simply Must Win. For us all.

And this is where the idea came from with a Labour ad from a single candidate a couple of weeks before. The list of policies at the end are even crazier than voting Remain. Anti-semitic as well.

IG’s Report covers up as much as it can but plenty still there to be seen

The depth of the deep state is a wonder to behold, and it is only because of PDT that we have even had a glimpse of it. No one can doubt after all this time that the FBI, along with many other agencies of the American Government, are corrupt to their very depths. There are obviously many who serve honourably, but at the top they are dishonest liars in whose service they actually are is difficult at times to work out.

The Inspector General’s Report has been released which downplays FBI corruption as best it can. If the names James Comey, or Lisa Page and Peter Strzok mean anything to you, then you can be in little doubt just how corrupt this organisation has become. The IG’s Report is about the FISA application. This tells you a lot about what you need to know: John Durham issues statement saying he does NOT agree with IG report conclusions….

US Attorney John Durham, who is performing his own investigation into the origins of the Russia probe, has just released a statement indicating that, per his own investigation, he does not agree with some of the IG report conclusions.

But with this still not being the full story, even the partial tale is quite quite extraordinary: IG Report Reveals Comey Did Brief Obama on Trump Campaign Investigation.

Former FBI Director James Comey briefed President Barack Obama about the investigation into Donald Trump’s campaign before the 2016 election, according to a report released today by the Justice Department’s inspector general.

And to see how widely the deep state corruption is, the media are as complicit as the others, although they are not supposedly committed to working for the country as those who work for the government supposedly are.

No reporter has yet to ask Barack Obama what he knew about his FBI’s counterintelligence probe into Donald Trump’s campaign or when he knew it.

We’ll see what’s coming next. As for impeachment, can a former president be impeached?

I keep reading about how the impeachment investigation is going badly for the Democrats, but that’s only how we look at it. ‘It did nothing’: White House blasts Judiciary Committee hearing as ‘desperate charade’.

The White House called the first day of impeachment testimony in front of the House Judiciary Committee a “bad day” for Democrats as they attempt to impeach President Trump.

“Today was a good day for President Trump, and a bad day for the Democrats,” White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a Wednesday statement. “The only thing the three liberal professors established at Chairman Nadler’s hearing was their political bias against the President. It did nothing to change the fact that, despite weeks of hearings in this sham process, the President did nothing wrong.”

“Congress should get back to working for the American people. The United States–Mexico–Canada trade agreement, infrastructure, and drug pricing all await action from Speaker Pelosi. Instead, House Democrats continue to ignore their constituents by focusing on this pathetic and desperate charade,” she added.

Great. Rational, civil, sensible, sane. That, however, is not what we are dealing with on the other side. These people are plain loco. They bulldoze power stations. They try to open their borders to anyone who wants to come. They want to believe that if we don’t do something about climate, the world will end in twelve years. They want to end the market economy. They have not a policy to their name that will solve a single problem, nor do they seem to care or even want one. Self-destructive and deluded, and have no idea what they want. And this far out, you cannot even begin to say with any certainty that one of their candidates will not become president eleven months from now.

I picked up these posts on the first page of Lucianne.com just now, but you could find just the same any time of night and day. The level of derangement is beyond comprehension. You cannot talk to these people. They want magic solutions to all problems.

President Donald Trump likes to say he’s going to win so much, you’ll get tired of winning. Maybe Democrats have taken the president too literally. The Democratic Attorneys General Association is leading the charge to excise all abortion moderates from the good graces of the party. It announced it will not endorse or assist any candidates who do not support unfettered abortion access. While state AGs may not seem incredibly relevant, they are an important stepping stone toward governors’ mansions in many states. So, considering the Democrats’ weak bench for plausible candidates in red states, the decision not to compete for attorney general is significant.

This Friday, the top four NCAA Division III women’s soccer teams face off in the national semifinals. One of the final four teams’ goalkeepers, Isa Berardo, is a male transgender playing as a female for Pomona-Pitzer Colleges. Not surprisingly, the male goalie has dominated the field against opposing female players, giving his own a chance to win the national championship thanks to his physical advantages in a key position. This is increasingly happening throughout women’s sports, at all levels from elementary school through professional competitions. It’s creating not equality, but inequality.

Yesterday, the House Judiciary led by Democrat ball of impeachment fury Jerry Nadler and his booster seat, presented a panel of highly-credentialed white people to quack about how Trump should be impeached from a constitutional perspective. When I say “highly-credentialed” I refer to their NeverTrump credentials because these three clowns have been howling against Trump for years. Everyone knows the universities are on the political Left. Political science is part of that problem, though it isn’t nearly as corrupt as some other disciplines. While many professors hold their partisan biases close, those inclinations all too often appear in curricula and scholarship and inevitably reach the classroom. A contrary example both of the theory and practice of politics, because its focus is on advancing the principles of the Declaration of Independence, are the panels and scholarship sponsored by the Claremont Institute—recently honored at the White House with the National Humanities Medal.
