Shameless and corrupt

An election is the final judgement of voters. There is plenty of chicanery in an American election, but almost all of it is on behalf of Democrats. Now these same Democrats want to add a another tier to the process: the right to try to remove a President from office if the President is not also a Democrat while the Democrats have a majority in the House. Here is some more from Drudge which is now anti-Trump and as corrupt as the rest of the media. This is a Democrat perspective, the same kind of vermin who think socialism is the answer.

And to look at things from the other side, this is Victor Davis Hanson on 10 reasons why this impeachment ‘inquiry’ is really a coup. I’ll give you the last one but you should read the other nine as well.

10) Precedent. The indiscriminate efforts to remove Trump over the past three years, when coupled with the latest impeachment gambit, have now set a precedent in which the out party can use impeachment as a tool to embarrass, threaten or seek to remove a sitting president and reverse an election. We are witnessing constitutional government dissipating before our eyes.

Eight years of Obama was all right, but eight seconds of Trump was not. Biden and Clinton corruption as obvious as the moon on a cloudless night while after three years of hunting high and low there has been nothing found that could even begin to tarnish Trump and suggest his intent from start to finish was anything other than to provide honest government, prosperity and even-handed justice. But forecasts on these things are hard to make since you never really know what any of those Republicans really think.

The Democrats are full-on totalitarian socialists, would appear willing to use any means they can find to overturn the democratic process. The most astonishing part of the past three years has been the revelation how corrupt the left in the United States is, having commenced their efforts to spy on the Republican candidate while Obama was still president, and then cobble together absolutely anything to find some, any, justification to overturn the election result. Impeachment does not of course mean that the president will leave office but that he will go to trial in the Senate where it requires a two-thirds majority vote to remove the President. That will never happen.

The left has descended into madness, but that is no excuse for any of it. Not an ounce of principle on the left, while the most astonishing part of all of it has been how unblemished Donald Trump is, both in what he has done and in his basic personal integrity. Not to mention how positive every one of his policies have been.

Two bits to help you see where we are at. This is Conrad Black – who knows a thing about corrupt prosecutions – discussing The Impeachment Farce Limps Along to Its Anticlimax. Which begins:

This sordid, contemptible impeachment ruse is finally disintegrating. It was another fraud, and I predict that this time the polls will move clearly in the president’s favor. There are limits to how often his enemies can get the public and the world to the edges of their chairs with their fantastic accusations. The Economist, a long-respected magazine in earlier times, told us a year ago that the Trump presidency was hanging on the thread of Michael Cohen’s testimony. Most of the U.S. media gave the public to understand for two years that there was a high chance that he would be thrown out once the Mueller investigation established his “treasonous” links to the Russians. Trump appalls many reasonable people by some of his antics and utterances, but his supporters are rock-solid at only slightly less than half the country, and enough to have got him elected. But the vitriolic antagonism of about 90 percent of the media, and the fear and loathing of the political class, which he assaulted in its entirety, have sustained an artificial levitation of morbid expectation that he will be overthrown and removed.

And then there is hour-long interview with Victor Davis Hanson who has just published a book on The Case for Trump which he discusses in the video. He is by no means a partisan but he does at least establish just how sordid and diseased the opposition to the president is.

A soul sickness unto political death

This absolutely certain event, an event known only because it was bragged about by its central protagonist, is merely incidental to the current Democrat/Media tempest in a teaspoon. But really, no matter how you frame it, this is the most blatant example of political corruption I have ever seen. Whatever the foreign policy interests of the United States were at the time, the only interest shown by its Vice President, Joe Biden, was to ensure that his son made a lot of money in some business venture in The Ukraine. If this has not caused a full-on tornado of disgust in the US, then the Democrats and their media allies are even more soul sick than I could ever have imagined. What puzzles me most of all is that this event and its implications is hardly discussed at all.

An explanation for Democrat insanity

I have to admit being depressed by today’s news which this article – Why the Democrats Have Gone Insane – has helped alleviate a bit. If the insanity of it all gets to you as well, read the whole thing, but this struck me as exactly how I think. From the final para:

Indeed the whole spectacle might be amusing in a macabre sort of way if there weren’t important things going on in the world. The president is engaged in negotiations of tremendous significance with the Chinese and trying to neuter as much as possible the violent mullahs of Iran, but the Democrats don’t care. In fact, they would prefer he fail and seem to be doing everything in their power to make it so. To call that UnAmerican is an understatement. Actually, it’s despicable and deeply immoral, not just for the citizens of this country, but for the world.

Nothing matters to the left other than whether it will get them power. Yet what do they use that power for? See Hilary Clinton for as good (bad) an example as you might not hope to see. Any good they do for the people who elect them is incidental to their actual motives in running for office.

Maybe this will provide another perspective.
