Trump opposes the deal with Iran

Well, here’s some news: Trump Storms Washington to Stop Iran Nuke Deal.

Donald Trump is coming to Washington with a message for Congress and the American people: Stop the nuclear deal with Iran.

And he will be joined by a star-studded galaxy of conservative leaders.

Appearing with the leading Republican presidential contender will be fellow candidate Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, former Gov. Sarah Palin, R-Alaska, political commentator Glenn Beck, radio talk-show host Mark Levin and many others in what promises to be a huge rally to try stop the Iran deal at the Capitol on Wednesday.

“This deal makes war a certainty,” Cruz has charged.

And, as he told WND, “If this deal is consummated, it will make the Obama administration the world’s leading financier of radical Islamic terrorism.”

And with the photo above, you might well be looking at the Repubican nominees for President and Vice President next November. As for Trump himself, the headline on the personal statement by Donald Trump reads: Donald Trump: Amateur hour with the Iran nuclear deal. It’s not long so you can read it all. This is how it starts:

It is hard to believe a president of the United States would actually put his name on an agreement with the terrorist state Iran that is so bad, so poorly constructed and so terribly negotiated that it increases uncertainty and reduces security for America and our allies, including Israel.

It was amateur hour for those charged with striking this deal with Iran, demonstrating to the world, yet again, the total incompetence of our president and politicians. It appears we wanted a deal at any cost rather than following the advice of Ronald Reagan and walking away because “no deal is better than a bad deal.”

The US now has a Leader of the Opposition, and what a difference it makes.

The more news they watch the less people seem to know about the world

dead boy

How is it even possible that such a picture could suddenly galvanise tens of millions around the world to open their borders and admit who knows who within their territories? And you know how? Because the newspaper readers and television-news watchers of the world have not been shown any of the horrors that have been routine over the past half decade in every war zone in the Middle East. For any of us who have been paying attention, the picture was so completely lacking in newsworthiness that it has taken me by utter surprise to find that this one photo now has millions of people round the world ready to open their frontiers to just about anyone with a story to tell about their needs for refuge. Such ignorance is not an accident. It is the consequence of having come to depend on a media so singularly dishonest that it has made Bill Shorten competitive and given Barack Obama two terms as president.

Why is Hillary electable?

It’s not that Trump is ahead but that Hillary is close that is the most disturbing result. So far Trump is being given a free ride by the media, with almost no negative coverage. He is there to pulverise the established Republicans and then when he becomes the nominee all will change. The survey results, which themselves may be a beat up.

The poll by SurveyUSA finds that matched up directly, Trump garners 45 percent to Clinton’s 40 percent.

In other head-to-head matchups, Trump beats out Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) by 44 percent to 40 percent; Vice President Joe Biden by 44 percent to 42 percent; and former Vice President Al Gore by 44 percent to 41 percent.

Can he really be that stupid? Yes he can

Can he really have said this?

“If we do nothing, Alaskan temperatures are projected to rise between six and twelve degrees by the end of the century.”

Yes he did! It’s four paras down after the picture, and I can only hope that this is another parody website I haven’t picked up on. The only question I ask is why I had not heard this before until I read this. But it’s not he who is deranged, although the possibilities are immense, but the media who cover his every action who have not said a word. Does anyone believe anything like this? Does no one in the media think it is outrageous that this can be said by a President of the United States at an international conference? There is no adult free press in the United States, and if there is, the media are as whatever as their president. I really honestly don’t have the words to describe them or him.

Hillary’s rules for radicals

hillary rules for radicals

Speaking of which, why does no one even bother to mention that Hillary’s senior thesis was on Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. Once upon a time unavailable. Now, it is hardly worth a mention; it is, if anything, a feature and not anything she needs to hide. She has the same genealogy as Obama. If you are interested, you can read it here. You won’t find anything you don’t already know, which is in itself a large part of the problem.

Obama has no idea what rent seeking is so Charles Koch has to tell him

Here is something Obama will never understand:

It’s not going to help the country to be subsidizing uneconomical forms of energy — whether you call them ‘green,’ ‘renewable’ or whatever. In that case, the cure is worse than the disease. And there is a big debate on whether you have a real disease or something that’s not that serious. I recognize there is a big debate about that. But whatever it is, the cure is to do things in the marketplace, and to let individuals and companies innovate, to come up with alternatives that will deal with whatever the problem may be in an economical way so we don’t squander resources on uneconomic approaches.”

The man speaking was Charles Koch after he had been personally attacked by the President:

Obama said of those who try to thwart policies intended to boost clean energy: “That’s not the American way. That’s not progress. That’s not innovation. That’s rent seeking, and trying to protect old ways of doing business and standing in the way of the future.”

Obama continued: “I mean, think about this. Ordinarily, these are groups that tout themselves as champions of the free market. If you start talking to them about providing health care for folks who don’t have health insurance, they’re going crazy: ‘This is socialism, this is going to destroy America.’ But in this situation, they’re trying to undermine competition in the marketplace, and choke off consumer choice, and threaten an industry that’s churning out new jobs at a fast pace.”

To which the reply was:

“I don’t know whether he knows what that phrase means, but ‘rent seeking,’ of course, is, in economic terms, is getting the government to rig the system in your favor. And that’s exactly what these so-called ‘renewable energy’ proponents are doing.”

Actually he does know that Obama doesn’t know. There are, in fact, a lot of things Obama doesn’t know to go along with all the things he does know that aren’t true.

Donald Trump – the inside story

I picked up from our local second-hand bookshop a copy of a hatchet job done on Donald Trump written in 1991 which goes by the name Trumped: the inside story of Donald Trump – his cunning rise and spectacular fall, a book written much too soon given his subsequent success. I cannot say I read every word, but as hatchet jobs go, what I came away with was a sense of someone who knew what he was on about, knew how to go about getting what he wanted, knew how to cut his losses when things did not work out, but was someone always in command of any situation, even as here, where he went in over his head in a series of deals on building casinos in New Jersey. But if you want a sense of who he is, the chapter headings are all quotes from Trump, and they reveal someone of substance even though they were not at all intended to be taken that way:

“Some people have a sense of the market and some people don’t. I like to think I have that instinct.

“People think I’m a gambler. I’ve never gambled in my life.”

“We were selling fantasy.”

“Despite what some people may think, I’m not looking to be a bad guy when it isn’t absolutely necessary.”

“Well, it’s all a game.”

“I want great promotion because it’s great promotion.”

“What I never anticipated was that we could win – and end up losing anyway.”

“Life is very fragile. Anything can change, without warning, and that’s why I try not to take any of what’s happening too seriously.”

“Sometimes your best investments are the ones you don’t make.”

“What separates the winners from the losers is how a person reacts to each new twist of fate.”

“Good publicity is preferable to bad, but from a bottom line perspective, bad publicity is sometimes better than no publicity at all.”

“In my life, there are two things I’ve found I’m very good at: overcoming obstacles and motivating good people to do their best work.”

“I’m loyal to people who’ve done good work for me.”

“Sometimes by losing a battle you find a new way to win the war.”

For all his outward appearance, he is nobody’s fool and gets things done. Meanwhile:

I’ve seen crazier

Found at Powerline under the heading, THE CRAZIEST POLITICAL AD OF ALL TIME? [WITH ONE MORE ADDED]. This was the comment by John Hinderaker about the one that was added which has a bit of local flavour:

What follows [actually above] has zero political significance, but it may be the craziest ad ever, period. It has generated a lot of negative comment, but I like the sophisticated tone, the cultured accent…

Cultured accent! Crikey, she’s an Aussie Sheila. The political ad that got Steve Hayward’s attention as the craziest ever is from Canada. Not at all crazy for an independent running for Parliament. Here it is.

At least in Canada they just appoint their mates to the Senate who then do nothing but ratify whatever comes their way from the Commons.

Either Obama’s an idiot or he thinks we are

Or both. The start of an article on President Obama has lost the argument on Iran.

When your best argument for an agreement is that the deal’s opponents are “making common cause” with your negotiating partners, it’s safe to say you’ve lost the debate.

As for those who take his word for things being idiots, he was elected twice and the media still love him. Highly rational with a deep respect for the past, for freedom and the constitution is not part of their frame of reference.
