Obama and the creation of a socialist state

This was a comment on my Delusional Liar post on Obama. I thought I knew about Alinski but if that is a direct quote from somewhere it is a truly explosive find. Even if not a direct quote, it is a quite nice summation of what is going on even if it has happened only opportunistically.

Obama is not delusional at all. He knows exactly what he’s doing. I’d like to single out the first and fifth of these rules but Obama really has them ALL covered.

How to create a social state by Saul Alinsky:

There are eight levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state. The first is the most important.

1) Healthcare – Control healthcare and you control the people

2) Poverty – Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.

3) Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.

4) Gun Control – Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.

5) Welfare – Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income)

6) Education – Take control of what people read and listen to – take control of what children learn in school.

7) Religion – Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools

8) Class Warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

The law and Mr Steyn

steyn monkey trial

Actually don’t click there but click here to assist Mark Steyn. But just how broken is the American justice system. This broken:

After a year and a half ensnared by poisonous fecal tendrils in the unpumped toxic septic tank of DC “justice”, I don’t think “broken” quite covers it. To any non-American, this system is utterly repulsive. In England, trial by jury replaced trial by ordeal. Somehow America has managed to turn trial by jury into a mere postscript to trial by ordeal. I think it ought to be possible to litigate a 270-word blog post in under 270 weeks. So let’s get on with it.

In the meantime, Steyn doesn’t think Michael Mann actually wants to go to court, but with a $30m countersuit in the way he will have no choice. Steyn will some day end up with a bit of that Nobel Prize loot Mann never actually won.

Immigration policy

This is about the United States but the point is just as valid here:

Our Immigration Policies: An ideal immigration policy would be based on merit, would focus on adding highly skilled immigrants, would be easily adjustable, wouldn’t change the demographics of our country and would be simple and inexpensive for law-abiding immigrants. Our current system meets none of these requirements.

Instead, we have a system that for all practical matters favors a law-breaking 17 year old from Mexico with a third grade education over a British neurosurgeon or a German engineer.

Moreover, at times like these, when so many Americans are out of work, it’s worth asking whether it makes sense to be bringing in any new citizens. That’s not a slam on immigrants because we have a lot of hard-working entrepreneurs who came here because they saw America as a land of opportunity; it’s an acknowledgement of the most basic fact of immigration: the whole purpose of it is to benefit people who are already American citizens. Bringing in uneducated ditch-diggers who’ll never pay income tax doesn’t benefit most Americans.

Intentionally changing the demographics of the country doesn’t benefit most Americans.

Rewarding lawbreakers who come into the country illegally doesn’t benefit most Americans.

Bringing in more than a million new immigrants a year when there are less people working today than there were seven years ago doesn’t benefit most Americans.

Immigration could be America’s greatest strength, but our poorly designed system makes no sense.

No business could survive if it brought in the same number of new employees every year, regardless of qualifications or need, then added everyone who could sneak into its lobby onto the payroll. Long term, our nation isn’t much different than that business.

Defenceless against history

Phillp Roth:

The drama issues from the assailability of vital, tenacious men with their share of peculiarities who are neither mired in weakness nor made of stone and who, almost inevitably, are bowed by blurred moral vision, real and imaginary culpability, conflicting allegiances, urgent desires, uncontrollable longings, unworkable love, the culprit passion, the erotic trance, rage, self-division, betrayal, drastic loss, vestiges of innocence, fits of bitterness, lunatic entanglements, consequential misjudgment, understanding overwhelmed, protracted pain, false accusation, unremitting strife, illness, exhaustion, estrangement, derangement, aging, dying and, repeatedly, inescapable harm, the rude touch of the terrible surprise — unshrinking men stunned by the life one is defenseless against, including especially history: the unforeseen that is constantly recurring as the current moment.

Obama, Mom jeans and John Kerry

US President Barack Obama rides his bicy

There really is idiocy about. If you are paying attention, even slightly, you would know that there are no end of problems in the world, from international terrorism, missing planes, poorly performing economies, and in the US, the disastrous introduction of the Affordable Care Act. But in the midst of all this, we can see what has really been on the mind of the American President:

Obama also took to the airwaves to set the record straight about his sartorial style. Earlier this month, former Gov. Sarah Palin criticized Obama’s weakness for the current situation in Ukraine, saying that while Russian President Vladimir Putin “wrestles bears and drills for oil,” people “look at our president as one who wears mom jeans.”

“I’ve been unfairly maligned about my jeans,” Obama told Seacrest on Friday. “The truth is, generally I look very sharp in jeans.”

This is what worries him. He is a teenage girl at heart. No gravitas, no seriousness, just a man who can read a teleprompter with only the occasional mistake (see “r-s-p-e-c-t”). That he spent a nanosecond on something no one in the world had thought twice about until he raised it himself is a spooky reminder of what a nitwit he is, incapable of any kind of useful concentrated thought on any issue of substance.

Meanwhile re the Ukraine, this is what John Kerry had to say:

We hope President Putin will recognize that none of what we’re saying is meant as a threat, it’s not meant in a personal way.

It is meant as a matter of respect for the international, multilateral structure that we have lived by since World War II, and for the standards of behavior about annexation, about succession, about independence, and how countries come about it.

Unless you are very low on the low-information voter totem pole, Americans must be truly embarrassed by who they elected as President. I only wish it was just a matter of embarrassment. This catastrophic period of American governance will rebound through the rest of this century and affect far more than we can even begin to foresee.

That is just the message of assurance Putin needed so you will not be surprised to find that Russia has begun its invasion of the Ukraine.

The rules of the modern left

Want to understand the actions of the left, here are the basics that cover every conceivable situation:

1) The male descendants of European civilisation are the great blight on the planet responsible for every bad event, past or present, actual or invented.

2) Everyone else on the planet is a victim of the male descendants of European civilisation.

3) Everyone else on the planet is owed reparations by the male descendants of European civilisation that are ongoing and never ending.

4) Even though ours is the kindest, freest and most open civilisation that has ever existed, the basis for our morality, our Judeo-Christian ethic, must be relentlessly attacked.

5) Even though ours is the most prosperous civilisation that has ever existed, our economic system, free market capitalism, must be relentlessly attacked.

These are the rules. To understand the psychology and motivations of those descendants of European civilisation who have joined the left, this I cannot explain. I can only describe the way they behave which are covered by the five rules of action. No one on the left ever acts in any other way.
