This is more than just a slippery slope

There has been mass confusion in Victoria about who can access childcare. The Premier’s office has now confirmed children can access childcare if just one of their parents is an authorised worker.

And so it says in The Age. An “authorised worker”? You do have to wonder where this will end up, and if you don’t wonder, you really should.

And this is from the US about us: Police Fire Rubber Bullets and Pepper-Spray Into Large Crowd of Anti-Lockdown Protesters in Melbourne (VIDEO). They think this is appalling. Why don’t we?

And this is also about us from the US: Massive Unrest as Australia Adopts China’s Authoritarian ‘COVID-Zero’ Approach.

The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 and the resulting illness, COVID-19, has caused mass hysteria on a global scale. Perhaps no response is as shocking as what we see in Australia. The country is included in the group of western democracies globally and among the Five Eyes intelligence community members. Yet, the nation’s response to the pandemic can only be described as authoritarian.

I find this particularly on the money. We really do accept insanity as a rational response.

In early August, Melbourne, Australia, imposed a mystifying sixth lockdown because eight cases of COVID-19 were detected. As cases of the Delta variant spread from the early clusters in the cities, nearly every major metro went back to implementing lockdowns. They remain in place and bar people from leaving their homes except for essential exercise, shopping, and caregiving.

Eight deaths in the midst of a flu epidemic in a state with 5.5 million should hardly cause a tremor never mind eight cases. We are such clowns.

A friend of mine who is a doctor was made to stay home for fourteen days because he was in some supermarket when some other person who supposedly tested positive was there at the same time. The kinds of damage we are doing to our ability to just get on with life is absurd.

I liked this one too, but you need to be Canadian which shows two mounties. Reconstructed from memory. The first one digging in the snow pulls out a boot, and say, “This is a boot.” And the other mounty says, “What is this a boot?” It’s kinda funny if you are a Canadian.

And I am sorry the pictures don’t show up since it’s not as funny to have to explain a joke.

I don’t actually believe Canadians talk like that anyway, but there was a chap I once knew who used to ask Canadians to say “out and about and around the house” and he would laugh and tell us we had just said “oot and aboot and aroond the hoos”. Couldn’t hear it myself, but it made him laugh.

Of course, my old test for Americans was to ask them to say “dog” and “log”. If they didn’t rhyme, then they were Americans. Canadians always do.

I also had a girlfriend one time who was English and she said that in England the words “Mary”, “Merry” and “marry” are each pronounced differently but in Canada they are all pronounced the same. Certainly, I always pronounce them the same.

Found here. For what it’s worth, Victoria has the stupidest Premier it has ever had. His only answer to Covid unbelievably is to try to eliminate it entirely, and every time he finds it coming back, he closes the state more tightly and for a longer period of time. He is dumber than two planks. We are a law-abiding citizenry but we are coming to the end of our tether. Shame about the absence of an Opposition Party anywhere to be seen.

This was Donald Trump speaking to Sean Hannity on August 18. Only 6772 views, it says, which is an example of just how powerful and deceitful the media in America now are. Part of the text.

This is the greatest embarrassment in the history of our country….  Biden put us in this position. He should have gotten the civilians out first. Then he should have taken the military equipment. We have billions of dollars of brand new, beautiful equipment. Take the equipment out and then take the soldiers out. And frankly, I said, take the soldiers out. But before you leave, blow up all the forts because we built these forts that are being now used by the enemy. It’s not even believable.

It is unbelievable, especially how fantastically ignorant of anything that matters the left across the world actually seems to be.

TRULY FANTASTICALLY IGNORANT: Having written the above, I then came across this. I wouldn’t say it’s representative, but I would say it is accurately suggestive of a deeper reality. I also don’t wish to change the subject away from the problem with American foreign policy, but a large part of the problem is the nature of the people who get to vote in the American election, assuming that voting any longer even affects the outcome.

This really is over the top. Who is he to get angry? What is he getting angry about? Does he get angry if people catch a cold? From The Herald-Sun: ANGRY DAN WARNS RULES MAY TIGHTEN. 

Mr Andrews said the spike in Victoria’s cases was “a very significant challenge, making today a bad day.

“I have no restriction announcements or rule changes but I can’t rule that out, ministers and public health officials will be sitting down this afternoon, this evening and into tomorrow determining whether there is any more we can do in terms of rules and settings to try and pull this up.

“Earlier in the week we talked about being at a tipping point. This is very, very serious, very serious indeed.

“I can’t be any clearer with the people of Melbourne and more broadly the people of Victoria. If we have a weekend this weekend like last weekend, next week it will be like Sydney.”

“It’s now up to every single Victorian to make the best possible choices, so we don’t get overrun with cases, so we don’t get locked into the year, so our nurses are not having to deal with hundreds and hundreds of patients who need a machine to breathe.

“We are right on the edge of this getting away from us.”

In total, 28,601 vaccine doses were administered and 48,273 coronavirus tests were received.

And maybe, just maybe, it is Andrews who is screwing up. After all, it is Victoria that has had the vast majority of the fatalities associated with Covid. Whose fault is that, Daniel?

In fact, how unrealistic is this as the future of women across “the West”. Nothing stands still. And with things as unpredictable as they are, who’s to say where things might end up. After 911 did you think the US would end up surrendering to the Taliban less than twenty years later? There are some very determined people on the other side to whom modern feminism will hardly be a response or an obstacle. I wish the modern left wasn’t as stupid as they are. With them, anything is possible. See below.

Those who take the Covid-19 “vaccines” are MORE susceptible to the Delta Variant and have a HIGHER risk of severe disease or even death. This information comes from Dr. Robert Malone, the inventor of the very mRNA technology used to transmit both the Pfizer and Moderna injections.

What are we being rushed into and why the rush anyway if the vaxxines are so potentially dangerous?

Meanwhile, going in a very different direction but still dealing with the virus, we have this: New Zealand’s Tyrannical PM Tells Kiwis To ‘Blame Australia’ For COVID Lockdowns. “Tyrannical” is their word, not mine. But here’s what she said:

New Zealand’s PM Jacinda Ardern decided to place the entire country on lockdown after finding a single case believed to be (but not proven to be) caused by the delta variant. And she wants desperate Kiwis eager to avoid the two-month horrorshow of lockdowns currently plaguing Australia (which has failed to stop the spread of the virus) to know that the real culprit responsible for their current situation is: Australia.

Specifically, New South Wales, which according to Ardern didn’t lock down “hard and fast” enough to stop the virus from leapfrogging to neighboring New Zealand, which hasn’t seen a case of COVID in months.

These politicians are always looking for an excuse for their own failures. Not that I think of one case in months actually is a failure, but she set the standard to live and die by so here we are.

 Ultimately Ardern’s criticism of Australia shows that the proponents of the already discredited “ZeroCOVID” approach will increasingly look for people to blame when their lockdowns are unsuccessful at eliminating a virus that’s become endemic to the human population.

And then this: Vax-entration Camps? Australian Government Builds “Mandatory Quarantine Facilities”, Officials Say Jab Is “Golden Ticket to Freedom”. 

The Government of Australia will be building what they call a “mandatory quarantine accommodation” which is set to open its first phase in “early 2022.” This will be the second of such facilities in the country and when it is finished it will be able to hold up to 3,000 in isolation as they quarantine.

And according to the story, people with Covid are already being taken away.

Who knows what is really happening, but what I do know is that the majority of the country would be onside with all of this.
